With record levels of Healthcare funding and vacancies, there has never been a better time to be a nurse in Australia. The University of Tasmania is one of the largest Nursing Schools in Australia and in response to Health sector demand we have expanded our campus footprint and our international student intake.

For 2024 we have significantly increased International quotas at our Tasmanian and New South Wales campuses with both three year and two-year accelerated degree options which allow study at a pace that suits student's goals and lifestyle.

Quotas are nearly full in Hobart but there are still places available at our Rozelle, Sydney (for the 2 year accelerated course), Launceston and new Cradle Coast campuses.

• Blended learning model with a mix of online and on campus learning intensive periods. A minimum of 800 hours practical experience through Professional Experience Placements, aligned with a student's interests, and across a variety of five clinical and healthcare environments.

• Dedicated nursing teaching staff, a small student ratio for practical and simulation learning experiences.

• Develop the clinical reasoning and practical skills required for the role as a registered nurse, as well as valuable skills like compassion, agility, and resilience.

• Our Bachelor of Nursing (both 2 and 3-year options) is fully accredited by the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Accreditation Council (ANMAC).

• Successful completion of the degree qualifies graduates to apply for registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse.

Demand for registered nurses is only increasing, with 85,000 more nurses forecast to be required to meet Australia's future healthcare needs by 2025. This is higher than any other occupation in Australia.* And according to talent.com entry-level registered nurse positions start at $77,774 per year.

To be considered for this course, students will need to make sure they meet our minimum entry requirements, and the English Language Requirements as outlined by NMBA for their AHPRA registration.
